Change of plans
Time to think
So, for the last week or so I've been seemingly off the grid, not posting or sharing anything at all. This all came together as I've worked closer to getting the e-commerce site re-done. In the end, it turned out to be not worth doing it from scratch and I've re-done things using magento.
But why did I stop and did not post anything about it?
The reason for it was that you actually need quite a bit of knowledge to know how to get things set up properly. It was a fun project, however I've decided not to post about it anymore, as in short - it needed a hosted server where I could upload the files and have a play with them to my liking. This once again adds up to technical knowledge which others might not be too keen of, thus I've decided to leave it be, and instead... I've re-setup bigcartel website to cancel my current paid subscription, so it gets reverted to previous address (Yes, with the ugly .bigcartel.com) inside it.. However.. It's free! And you get to keep 5 products.
So once again, as a showcase project it will be enough for now.
Soo, what next?
Next, is upcoming couple projects using web-scraping / screen scraping / data mining / crawling etc.. What ever you want to call it, I'm, going to do it.
To be brief about it: A website that scrapes current existing property / land / rent etc.. Listings, formats them and lets me visualise them a lot better. With the incorporated use of google maps API's, hoping to also be able showcase all these listings on an interactive map, with multiple selectors and including overall estimated land / property / rent price for set area.
This is coming up shortly, and I'll split it into different sections and will more than likely post more than just once a day.
Sections
I'm also going to split some things into other sections so finding things will be easier, rather than having to scroll through wall of posts / know exact date to find something, this will be coming in the next couple days.
Meantime:
As of now, before I get onto working and posting updates about the web-scraping, to which I have far greater interest, I've discovered this great website (Not an affiliate link or anything, just a general recommendation) called Black Hat World even though the name might seem a bit daunting, it's just a forum. However it's a great community run forum, with some experienced members. This link that I've provided leads specifically to thread about making money online. I've spent last couple days or so lurking around, and people there are coming up with some crazy good ideas to make a bit more than beer money, but possibly a bit less than full on monthly income.
My idea is to try out couple or more of such mentioned methods (Open to other suggestions too) to see which ones work and which ones do not yet and provide everyone with detailed information on how am I doing so far.
Have you made any money yet?
As of today, I've sadly still not made any money either from the blog or any other source (My e-commerce store) which I'll also get into a bit later as to why this could happen to you, and how it does not mean that there's no money to be made.
Wait, making money from a blog with no custom address or affiliate links?
Yeah, you can easily sign up for a blogspot account, get a blog up in couple minutes which I've mentioned in my previous post and then sign up for adsense (Google provided service, they will also provide the ads for you on your blog / website) and if people are interested and kind enough to click on them / buy what is offered, you can get income from it :)
So why no adsense on your blog?
Simply because I've been rejected due to lack of content / direct idea what the content is about, as this is all very fresh, therefore no, you can't easily earn money from day ONE, BUT, if you keep at it, you will eventually.
So no worries, I will keep on posting how it's going so far and will start including daily income sheet? / picture showcasing the progress so far.
Your structure is horrible!!
Yup, I am aware of it, but at the moment I'm trying to focus on just producing the content rather than trying to play tricks on people to read my full article / click on links, not my goal, I just want to show you that anyone on the internet can earn somewhat money even to get started and hopefully turn it into full time income :)
